De bekroonde schilder, docent en auteur Tony Allain schildert al meer dan 40 jaar. Hij is een autodidactisch schilder van kleur, licht en beweging met een diepgaand begrip van zijn omgeving. Hij is geboren en getogen op de Kanaaleilanden, maar verhuisde naar Cornwall om daar te schilderen en te wonen, met als doel de unieke helderheid van het licht op het schiereiland van het West Country vast te leggen.
Tony heeft in de loop der jaren veelvuldig geëxposeerd; zijn werk is te vinden in vele toonaangevende galeries en in particuliere en bedrijfscollecties wereldwijd, waaronder het Maritiem Museum op Guernsey en de Queen Mary 2, een schip van de Cunard-rederij.
Hij heeft geëxposeerd bij The Pastel Society of America in New York, de Royal Society of Marine Artists in Londen, de International Pastel Exhibition in Suzhou, China, en de Pastel Society in de Mall Galleries in Londen.
Een verhuizing naar Nieuw-Zeeland in 2006 bleek een keerpunt in zijn carrière te zijn, met zijn toelating als Master of the Pastel Artists of New Zealand. Zijn werk is regelmatig te zien in The Artist Magazine, het Pastel Journal en de Practique des Arts.

Award winning painter, instructor and author Tony Allain has been painting for over 40 years. A self-taught painter of colour, light and movement with a complete understanding of his surroundings. Born and raised in the Channel Islands he moved to paint and live in Cornwall to capture the unique clarity of light living on the peninsular of the West Country.
Tony has exhibited extensively over the years, his work can be found in many leading galleries as well as private and corporate collections worldwide, including the Maritime Museum, Guernsey and Queen Mary 2, Cunard Liner.
He has exhibited with The Pastel Society of America in New York, the Royal Society of Marine Artists, London, The International Pastel Exhibition, Suzhou, China and the Pastel Society, Mall Galleries, London.
A move to New Zealand in 2006 proved to be a turning point in his career with the acceptance as a Master of the Pastel Artists of New Zealand. His work is regularly featured in The Artist Magazine, the Pastel Journal and the Practique des Arts.
