Ella Flavelli is kunsthistorica en graficus en maakt sinds 2016 linosneden onder de naam Burin & Plate. Haar praktijk richt zich op prenten van locaties met historische en persoonlijke betekenis, met de nadruk op patronen en grafische contrasten. Ze heeft talrijke commerciële opdrachten uitgevoerd in zowel het Verenigd Koninkrijk als in het buitenland, waarbij ze alles ontwierp, van etiketten voor bierblikjes tot kerstkaarten. Haar werk is te zien geweest op de cover van Birmingham Design Magazine (2023) en in Carving Blocks: Printmakers and Their Stories (2024), en ze heeft uitgebreid gesproken over haar praktijk op scholen en tijdens designfestivals.

Ella Flavell is an art historian and printmaker who has been producing linocuts under the name Burin & Plate since 2016. Her practice focuses on prints of locations of historic and personal significance with an emphasis on pattern and graphic contrast. She had completed numerous commercial commissions both in the UK and abroad designing everything from beer can labels to Christmas cards. Her work has been featured on the cover of Birmingham Design Magazine (2023) and inCarving Blocks: Printmakers and Their Stories(2024), and she has spoken extensively on her practice in schools and at design festivals.
