Omschrijving

This set Unison pastel starter 36 whole pastels is specially selected by John Hersey, the founder of Unison, as a perfect pastel colour set.

Unison pastel starter 36 , the next step up from the starter 18 set, but without repeating the colors (except grey 27). A great way to move to bigger sets while expanding your reach.

John Hersey was born in 1925. He attended the Byam Shaw School of Art in London, where he won a Rome scholarship and lived in Italy for several years. On his return to the UK he ran his own company 'Fine Art Photography' while continuing his own work. Over the years, he became more and more interested in and passionate about color. John always found inspiration in the brightness of light and subtlety of color in Northumberland.

The Unison project started when John decided that the manufactured pastel colors available on the market broke easily, were not consistent in texture and did not reflect his color vision. For years he worked on production methods, color sequences and the texture of his pigment blends.

In 1987 he decided to offer the results to fellow pastelists. The original range of color sets (then only 117 pastel colors!) Attracted great interest from artists. And the Unison company was born.

The consistency of the pastels is somewhat drier than that of the somewhat creamy Sennelier. But because they have a completely different color palette, they are great to use in combination.
